I will overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight round fight which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to promote next month's bout.

Ex two-time world title holder Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Boxer's Attitude

"I will break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

Despite such comments, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather attacked former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British rival Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's greatest money-making draws, consistently making huge earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and stated he would derail the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.

Size Difference

As both boxers participated in the usual confrontation, with their physical disparity evident, it drove home just how unlikely this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is really proceeding.
